This is an educational post about the Golden Rivet. The Golden Rivet is nasty piece of Naval folklore that ends with one participant feeling considerably less of a man than he initially did. Basically, the Golden Rivet is a Rivet made of gold (ususally located in the bowels of the vessel, known as engineering levels). A curious seaman goes in search for this mystical object, and eventually finds it. The rest is similar to dropping soap in prison showers etc. My advice for the day is, "Don't touch it".
